I installed smart light switches throughout my kitchen and living room a few months ago, and they were working great at first. Now they keep dropping off my network every few days and I have to reset them. The router is pretty close by, so it's not a range issue. Am I dealing with a wiring problem, interference, or is this just a bad batch of switches?
This is usually a WiFi stability issue rather than wiring - check if your router needs a firmware update, try switching to the 2.4GHz band if you're on 5GHz (smart home devices often struggle with 5GHz), and see if anything nearby is causing interference like a microwave or cordless phone. If that doesn't work, your switch batch might be defective, but before replacing them all try factory resetting one and reconnecting it to rule out a settings corruption problem.
