A good board from brands like Burton, Lib Tech or Capita used costs less than half the price of new, and honestly unless it's beat to hell it still holds up fine.

For boots we're talking another 80-150 euros used, and you gotta be careful here because the heel and sole wear out. If you also need the binding (the thing that attaches the boot to the board) that usually runs 40-80 euros used. Altogether, putting together gear that works decently, you're looking at 350-600 euros give or take. Sure, if you want really top-of-the-line equipment or something more recent it'll go up a bit, but honestly for used stuff the value for money is great compared to buying everything new.
