What gifts can I give an 8-year-old who loves football?

My son is turning 8 next month and he's crazy about football, especially Real Madrid. I want to surprise him with something he'll really like, but I don't want to spend a fortune. Can you recommend something practical that he can actually use?

It doesn't have to be something expensive for him to love it - honestly, kids that age value practical stuff way more than expensive stuff. A good quality ball is always a hit, especially if it's an official Real Madrid one or from a decent brand like Adidas or Puma. You could also look at football boots if he needs them, or sportswear from whatever team he trains with. What I did with my brother was get him a small goal for the backyard, and he absolutely loved it because he could practice by himself or with friends. Plus it's way cheaper than watching him kick stuff all around the house and dealing with the aftermath.

If you want something more specific to Real Madrid without spending too much, an official jersey from the current season is nice, a complete uniform with socks and everything, or even a big poster for his room. There are also football video games like EA Sports FC or FIFA that are still popular, though it depends on whether he has a console. Another option I think is practical is a training kit: cones, agility rings, sports bags. If you play football too, you'll know those things actually get used during training, it's not a toy he's gonna forget about in a month.

Honestly, if I were you I'd ask him what he needs for his training without making it obvious, or ask his coach what he's missing. Sometimes parents spend a ton of money on awesome stuff that the kid doesn't use because he actually needed something completely different. But with boots, balls, or training kits you can't really go wrong.
