I'm tired of relying on cellular network in the forest - the signal keeps dropping. I need an app to mark locations on a map where I find game, good spots to sit, actually interesting places. So I can sync everything at home later. What would you recommend?
You should look at apps with preloaded maps - they work offline and then sync your waypoints with the cloud. Popular options: Maps.me (has route and marker saving features), Avenza Maps (more specialized, convenient for hunters), OsmAnd (open maps, you can add tons of layers). I tried Maps.me - the marker accessibility is good, but sometimes it lags on old phones with a huge number of points. The main thing is to download the region you need in the app before heading into the forest, then GPS will work without internet.
