Don't go for lightweight calibers; instead, choose something like .308, .30-06, or 9.3x62 - they reliably put down wild boar and ensure clean kills.
How big are your wild boar bags usually? For sows I'd recommend a 9.3×62 or .308, you need some serious stopping power for that - with the thicker sows it's important to get clean hits.
