I'm thinking about starting to fish in the Mondego River near Covilhã and I have no idea where to begin. I saw some spinning rods at Decathlon for 40-50 euros, but I'm afraid of wasting money if it turns out I don't like it.

For the price at Decathlon you can already get something decent to test if you really like fishing, so I think it's worth taking the chance. But if you get a chance, ask for tips from someone who fishes in the Mondego since every river has its quirks.
