In the Moscow Region, for a two-story house people usually choose aerated concrete or ceramic block because they're warmer than brick and faster to build with. Aerated concrete is cheaper and more popular, but it needs good waterproofing and can shrink - you shouldn't do finishing work sooner than a year later. Ceramic block is more expensive, but stronger and more durable, doesn't mind moisture, and lasts as long as brick. If you're in a hurry and your budget is tight, go with aerated concrete; if you're willing to pay extra for reliability and don't want surprises with dampness, ceramic block.
