I want to make cleaning easier, but I live in a two-bedroom where half the floor is hardwood and half is carpet. I read a lot of reviews, but everyone says different things. Is it even worth getting a robot vacuum or would a regular vacuum be better?
A robot vacuum makes sense if you're willing to clean your carpets with a regular vacuum a couple times a week - robots work great on hardwood and tile, but they lose suction on thick pile carpets. In reality it's not a replacement, it's an addition to a regular vacuum, more like everyday relief from dust and hair. If you have a lot of carpets and they're dense, you'll be disappointed - better to just get a good upright or regular vacuum with a carpet mode right away and wait for sales on those instead.
