Tuesday and Wednesday usually have lower prices because demand drops on those days, but what really matters is booking in advance (like 2-3 months ahead) and keeping an eye on airline promotions, especially on random days when they release discounted fares. For Northeast flights at year-end it's tough because it's peak season, so unfortunately you'll end up paying more than other times even if you book on the best days.
