What's the best way to hem jeans at home?
I bought jeans online and they're longer than usual. I want to hem them myself, but I'm scared I'll mess them up. Maybe there's an easier way than sewing them by hand with a blind stitch?

With adhesive tape it's easier, but honestly it doesn't hold for long, especially if you wash the jeans often. I'd still suggest sewing it on with at least a simple machine stitch if you have one - it'll take like five minutes and will last for years. If you don't have a machine, doing it by hand with a blind stitch isn't as scary as it seems, the main thing is to fold the edge evenly and not rush. You can use the adhesive tape as a helper, and then sew over it.
The easiest way is to use adhesive tape for hemming - it's called fusible webbing or hemming tape. You can buy it at any sewing supply store, place a strip between the folded edge and the fabric, then press it with a hot iron through a damp cloth. It holds well, and you won't risk ruining the garment. The only downside is that jeans are harder to redo later if needed, but if you do everything right, it's not a problem.
If you want a more reliable option, it's better to sew it on a machine, but with a regular stitch, not a blind stitch. Turn the jeans inside out, fold up the hem to the right height and sew right along the edge - it'll take about five minutes. Try to hit the seam on the side of the pant legs, so the stitches will be less noticeable. If you don't have a machine, a blind stitch by hand is actually not complicated, try it once and you'll realize it's easier than it seems. The main thing is don't rush, make frequent stitches and try to hit right in the fold of the fabric.
