The first and most important thing is to check the clinic's license and the specialist's certificates. A cosmetologist must have medical education and documents confirming their right to perform procedures. Ask to see the license, and don't hesitate to ask questions about their qualifications. If the specialist dodges the question or can't produce documents - that's a red flag.
Pay attention to instrument sterilization and the conditions in the clinic. Everything that contacts your skin (needles, tweezers, spatulas) should be processed in an autoclave or another approved method. Ask them to explain the disinfection process. The room should be clean, without any musty or stale smell. If you have sensitive skin or are prone to allergies, clarify exactly which products will be used and ask them to do a reaction test.
Check whether the specialist has experience with your skin type and the specific problem you want to solve. The consultation before the procedure should be detailed - the cosmetologist should tell you about possible side effects, recovery time, and contraindications. Don't agree to the procedure if anything seems rushed or unprofessional 🙂
