What smart lock is compatible with old Spanish doors?

flores95 ES 🌱 Newbie 👁 1 ⚑ Report Smart Home

I live in a 70s apartment with a really thick wooden door and the lock is some unknown brand. I want to install a smart lock like a Yale or Nuki but I'm worried it won't fit properly.

Smart locks like Yale or Nuki generally work fine on old doors because they adapt to different thicknesses, but the important thing is that you check the dimensions of your current cylinder first (the one that goes in the door) because that's what determines whether it'll fit or not. Do you know what size your cylinder is right now, like 30-30 or 40-40? Once you confirm that you can choose between a system that just replaces the cylinder (simpler) or if you need to change the whole lock. Most locksmiths can help you measure without any problem if you're not sure.
