A robot lawn mower makes sense if you have a regularly shaped plot without steep slopes and complicated obstacles. It's great because it mows little by little several times a week, keeping the grass at a consistent level, and you don't have to stand around with a mower in the heat. But there are downsides: they're not cheap, they require maintenance, you need to install a boundary wire, and they only work on flat areas with good drainage.
Before buying, it's worth honestly assessing your plot. If there are steep sections, rocks, tree roots, narrow passages between bushes, or branches lying around all the time, the robot will get stuck more often and need help - then it's not really worth it. But if your lawn is roughly rectangular or oval, obstacle-free, the grass grows evenly, and you're ready to invest in convenience, then yeah, it does simplify things.
One more thing: a robot mower is quieter than a regular one, but it runs for a long time and constantly, so your neighbors might not approve. If you're often away from the dacha or just tired of the routine, and your plot is suitable - give it a try. But if you've been mowing by hand every two weeks and are happy with it, you can leave things as they are.
It does mow the grass evenly, but you have to keep checking the battery all the time, especially when it's hot. My neighbor bought one of these things, and in the summer it either runs off into the shade to cool down, or the battery just acts weird. If you don't have a normal outlet near where the robot parks at your dacha, it might end up being more trouble than it's worth.
