I'm going to spend a week in July with my partner and we want to visit towns like Tossa de Mar or Lloret, but the hotels are super expensive. Is there a cheaper nearby town where we can stay and get around easily?
Look, the best thing is to search for accommodation in towns further north like Blanes or Malgrat de Mar, which are 20-30 minutes from Tossa and Lloret but way cheaper. From there you can get around easily by bus or even by bike if you feel like it (I ride my motorcycle quite a bit, so I get the whole exploring thing) - the coast has good public transport connections. I'd also recommend checking out hostels, Airbnb apartments, or even guesthouses in those towns, because during peak season the hotels absolutely rip you off on prices.
