Netflix has really let me down lately, especially with how it handles pricing and content. Like, you pay a ton but then you find series getting cancelled out of nowhere after one or two seasons, right when they're starting to take off. And then there's this ad-supported subscription - it's such a ripoff. You're still paying a fortune and you have to watch ads on top of it. I'm not expecting miracles or anything, but when you're paying like you're buying two different services, I'd at least expect some consistency in their library.

That said, the others aren't really much better. All these platforms try to do their own thing, but you need like 5-6 subscriptions to find what you actually want to watch - it's gotten ridiculous. At least before there was a decent concentration of content, now it's all fragmented and honestly I've gotten more into scrolling than actually watching. I end up using the streaming app more to search for what's available than to actually pick something and sit down to watch a series in peace.

I wouldn't name specific apps because it really depends on what you're looking for, but in general I've found it annoying when apps raise prices but actually remove features instead of adding new ones. The user experience has gotten a lot worse on some platforms, with more confusing interfaces and algorithms that recommend stuff that has nothing to do with what you were actually watching. In the end, the biggest letdown is when you're paying for a subscription and feel like the service doesn't justify the cost anymore.

What really gets me is when apps promise you one thing and then change it without telling you, like subscriptions that seem like a good deal until you find out half the content you wanted to watch is only available at a higher price tier! The real problem isn't even the price itself, but that now they all compete to offer less perceived value, like they're in a race to strip away features. In the end you end up jumping from one app to another month by month, which is a mess!
