Why are AI-generated memes getting so tiresome?

Seriously, every day another AI-generated meme shows up in WhatsApp groups and Instagram. At first I thought it was funny, but now it's just oversaturated. Am I the only one getting tired of this or do other people also think it's lost its charm?

You're definitely not alone, lots of people are already sick of it. The problem is that AI generated an absurd amount of memes super fast, and most of them are way too generic - they're missing that creative touch that made memes actually funny. When everyone's using the same tool to generate content, everything ends up looking the same, you know? The real humor is in stuff that takes time, creativity, or some kind of context, not in an image generated in two seconds.

The real issue is that a lot of people confuse "tiresome" with "a lot." Yeah, there's tons of AI memes out there, but the actual problem is the lack of filtering - anything generated just gets shared, whereas before there was more natural selection because making a meme took time. What's happening is the average quality dropped a ton, not that AI memes are inherently worse, just that now you get all kinds of garbage dumped on you at once. When someone actually does something creative with the tool, it gets lost in all the trash.

I think the burnout also comes from the fact that memes are supposed to be rare and surprising, you know? When you see five identical AI memes in an hour, the humor just dies. It's like that toy you really wanted and when you get it you're bored of it in two days - abundance kills the interest. Plus, the algorithms are shoving these memes at everyone, so it feels like they took over everything all at once.

The biggest problem is that it's way too easy to create and share this stuff now - anyone can generate 50 memes in 5 minutes and blast them out, so it basically becomes spam. But there's something nobody's talking about: when a meme doesn't have that manual work, that genuine creativity from whoever made it, it loses its charm because it turns into just mass repetition. It's like when everyone screenshots the same joke and passes it around - it gets old fast because there's no personal touch from whoever created it.
