Why are UK food exports to the EU tanking so badly?

Just read that British food and drink exports to the EU have dropped by more than a third since Brexit. That's huge. I'm wondering what this actually means for prices at the shops here - does this affect what we pay for groceries, or is it mainly hitting farmers and producers? Are they going to have to raise prices because they've lost that market?

The drop is mostly down to extra paperwork, checks and tariffs that make it way harder for British producers to sell into the EU market, so they've pulled back exports and shifted focus elsewhere. You probably won't see massive price hikes in your local shops because UK groceries are mainly about domestic production and imports from other places, but farmers and food makers have definitely felt the squeeze on their margins and export revenue.
