I watched Spartak's match yesterday, and VAR canceled a completely legitimate goal. This isn't the first time I've seen mistakes like that in important matches. Maybe the system just isn't ready yet, or the operators are poorly trained?
VAR works with video from different angles and speeds, and the line for offside or contact is sometimes so blurry that even slow-motion footage doesn't give you 100% clarity - hence the contradictory calls 🤷 Plus the operators really do have different levels of skill, and the standards for applying the rules vary a bit between leagues, which makes things even messier.
