I've been following the League for years and this semi-automatic offside change has got me a bit confused. Can someone explain to me how it works exactly? Is it faster than traditional VAR or is it still just as slow?
Don't overthink it - basically the system uses high-speed cameras and tracking technology to automatically detect offsides without waiting for referees to manually review each frame like before. It's way faster than traditional VAR because the machine already has the offside line ready almost instantly, so referees just confirm what they see.
