I've had a Whirlpool for 5 years that works normally, but since last night it's been making this weird noise like a continuous vibration. It's not the compressor starting up, it's coming more from the back. Is this serious or is it just something that needs adjusting?
Don't put it off, constant vibration noise is usually a fan rubbing or something that came loose in the back! First check that nothing's blocking the condenser fan (dust, something that fell), it's super easy to clean and that fixes it in most cases. If it keeps going after you clean it, you'll probably need to call someone in because it could be a part wearing out, and the longer you wait the more you risk damaging other stuff!
A fridge vibrating since yesterday rather than the compressor clicking is clearly not normal! Before you freak out, try something simple: turn it completely off for 30 seconds, then turn it back on. Sometimes the defrost system triggers wrong and creates a weird vibration that goes away with a reset.
If it keeps going, check the water pipes at the back (especially the defrost circuit) - a pipe vibrating against the fridge wall can make that kind of crazy noise. A little bit of foam or paper to dampen it and you're sorted! The other possibility is something that's shifted inside or in the condenser compartment, but start with the simple adjustments before calling a technician.
