I have a Daikin split system in my bedroom that I've been using for three years now. I've noticed that the air cools well near the indoor unit, but the opposite corner of the room stays warm. Could it be that it needs cleaning, or is this normal for this size space?
This is a normal issue for medium to large rooms - the cold air from the split unit simply doesn't reach the far corners because warm air rising from below disrupts circulation. Cleaning the filters definitely won't hurt (three years is about time), but the main thing is to reorient the louvers on the indoor unit so the airflow goes at an angle upward toward the ceiling rather than straight into the room - that way it spreads better. If that doesn't help, you're left with either putting a fan in to mix the air, or relocating the indoor unit closer to the center of the room if that's possible.
