Are deserts currently growing or shrinking?

It's not really that straightforward, man. Deserts are growing in some regions - desertification is real, especially in Africa and Asia because of drought and poor land use - but in other places they're actually shrinking, like in China which has planted billions of trees in recent years. It really depends on where you're looking at and what's happening with the climate and environmental management in that region.
