I had those installed in my place - at first it seemed like a waste, but then I appreciated how convenient it was not having to carry power adapters and dongles around the rooms. Though the charging speed is often slower than from a regular outlet with an adapter, and after a couple of years one of them started not holding the plug properly. If you've got a lot of devices and things are constantly charging - it makes sense, but not in every outlet, just selectively in convenient spots. You'll have to pay extra for decent models, the cheap ones usually disappoint.

Built-in USB outlets make sense if you've got a lot of devices that are constantly charging in the same spots - by the bed, in the kitchen, in the entryway. Once you install them, you'll thank yourself for not having to hunt down an adapter, and there won't be cables hanging in a tangled mess. But yeah, they're usually more expensive than regular outlets, and if you ever want to move or redo things later, it's a bigger hassle. Plus keep an eye on quality - cheap models fail quickly or get really hot.

It all depends on how you live. If you're charging devices in one place, it's genuinely convenient and worth the money. But keep in mind: built-in USB ports often get hot and degrade faster than a regular adapter. So if you do install one, pick something with a solid warranty and don't obsess over wattage. Here's a useful trick though - instead of putting the outlet in a bedside table, mount it on a shelf at eye level where you're already sitting at your desk or on the couch. That way you can see if your device is charged, and you won't forget to grab it.
