Best way to organize a Funko Pop collection by theme or size?

I've got about 80 Funko Pops scattered across different shelves and it's getting messy. Some are still in box, others I've opened. I'm trying to figure out if organizing by franchise, character type, or just by shelf space makes the most sense. What do people usually do?
