I've got a 2015 Gol and yesterday the brake locked up out of nowhere while I was coming back from work. The car pulled hard to the left and I almost crashed. Is this a problem with the caliper, master cylinder, or something more serious? Is it dangerous to drive like this?
Don't drive the car in this condition anymore, go straight to a mechanic because a brake suddenly locking up is genuinely dangerous. It could be a stuck caliper (the most common), a faulty master cylinder, or even an ABS malfunction - the car pulls to one side because one wheel locks up more than the other. Ask the mechanic if they can reproduce the issue and if they hear any strange noises from the brakes? And has it happened more times or just this once?
