Can I return an item if the warranty expired a week ago?
I bought an LG washing machine a year ago, and now the drum won't spin. The warranty expired exactly a week ago. The store says there's nothing they can do. But maybe the law is on my side?

Is the drum just stuck or is there clearly something broken inside? The thing is, the warranty period and the consumer rights period are two different things. By law you have two years from the date of purchase to file a claim if you discover a manufacturing defect. The key is proving that the problem existed while you were still using the machine during the warranty period, it just showed up later. If the machine broke down a year after you bought it, that's a huge red flag for a factory defect. Try writing an official complaint to the store or directly to LG describing the problem and demanding an inspection - service centers often check the machine after that and find that it really is a manufacturing defect.
