Can you actually return stuff to Shein without paying return shipping?

I ordered a couple of items from Shein last month and two of them don't fit right. When I checked their return policy, it seems like I have to pay for return shipping myself, which would cost almost as much as the items. Do other people actually go through with returns, or is that just a way they keep costs down?

How much are the items themselves worth? If they're like $5-10 pieces, yeah, most people just eat the loss instead of paying $8-12 to ship them back - that's basically their whole business model. They're banking on the fact that return shipping costs more than the garment, so hardly anyone bothers, which is why they can keep prices so stupidly low in the first place.

Don't just assume the return shipping cost will kill the deal - sometimes Shein actually does cover it depending on the reason and your location, so it's worth contacting their customer service before giving up. The earlier answer nails it that most people do eat the loss on cheap items, but I've heard from folks who successfully got prepaid labels for defective stuff or items that were completely mislabeled, which suggests they're not uniformly refusing returns. That said, yeah, the whole model banks on people deciding a $3 shirt isn't worth the hassle, so if your items are legitimately low-priced, you might genuinely be better off just keeping them or donating them than fighting with shipping costs.
