Dashboard camera affecting car audio quality?

I just installed a Viofo A119 Mini dash cam in my 2023 Honda Civic and noticed my car's stereo now has this weird high-pitched interference, especially when the camera's recording. It's coming through the speakers even when nothing's playing. Could the camera's power cable be causing interference with my audio system, or am I just noticing it now?

Dash cams do generate electromagnetic noise, and it's totally plausible that a poorly shielded power cable running near your stereo wiring could pick up that interference. The fact that it happens specifically when recording suggests the camera's processor is the culprit rather than you just now noticing it. Try routing the power cable away from your audio cables (they're usually behind the dashboard) and make sure it's not bundled together with them, or consider using a ferrite clamp on the camera's power line. If that doesn't help, you might need a different power source or to ground the camera more carefully.
