I've worked in places where wildlife warnings get blown way out of proportion, and this feels like one of those situations. Wolves have made a comeback in Denmark over the last decade or so, but attacks on humans are extremely rare - like, you're way more likely to get hurt driving to your hotel. The warnings are basically just "don't approach them, keep your distance" which is common sense for any wild animal. Unless you're hiking alone at dawn in remote forests, you don't need to lose sleep over it.
Wolves in Denmark are real but genuinely not a threat to tourists in any practical sense. They've been recolonizing parts of Jutland since around the early 2010s after being extinct there for centuries, so local authorities are understandably cautious about public awareness. The warnings exist mostly because it's responsible management when wildlife returns to populated areas - people should know what to do if they encounter one, even if the odds are slim. Actual attacks on humans are vanishingly rare across Europe where wolves have returned.
The thing most people gloss over is the difference between "being warned about something" and "needing to be worried about something." A warning is just information. You'd handle a wolf encounter the same way you'd handle most large predators: make yourself look bigger, back away slowly, don't run. In practice though, wolves avoid people actively. They're wary of humans in a way that makes them pretty unlikely to approach you unless they're starving or you've somehow cornered them. If you're hiking around in Denmark and following normal trail sense, you won't be in that situation.
Where the precautions actually matter more is if you're in rural areas or camping, and that's less about panic and more about basic respect for wildlife. Secure your food, don't leave garbage around, stay aware of your surroundings. These are just sensible practices anywhere you're in wild country. Tourists sticking to towns, cities, and marked trails in the southern and central regions have zero realistic reason to adjust their plans.
