It's a bit of marketing stuff, you know. I mean, blue light glasses actually exist and they do block some blue light, that's factual. But does it really change your life? That's less clear. Studies show that blue light itself doesn't cause direct eye damage, contrary to what you hear everywhere. The real problem when you're staring at your screen all day is more that you blink less, you don't have enough contrast, and your screen is really bright. That's what creates eye strain, not really the blue light itself.
After that, if you put on blue light glasses and it makes you feel better psychologically, and your eyes get less tired, why not. Some guys say it really helps them sleep better at night because blue light messes with your circadian rhythm. That's not completely wrong, it's just that the effect is probably less dramatic than we'd like to believe. Me at the garage, I tried a pair my buddy gave me and honestly I didn't feel anything crazy.
What I'd recommend instead is just taking real breaks, move your screen away a bit, do some eye movements. The 20-20-20 rule is basic but it works: every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away from you for 20 seconds. And limit your ambient light in the evening if you want to sleep better. It's less sexy than special glasses, but it's more effective.
I've had blue light glasses for a few months now and I gotta say they're not a miracle! like I drive 10-12 hours a day as a taxi driver and my eyes hurt less in the evening but it's subtle you know, it's not like you put on the glasses and boom no more fatigue! it's mostly important to have good posture and take regular breaks but anyway if it can help even a little bit why not 🐱
