It really depends on your body shape - it's not something that works for everyone. If you have a more pronounced belly or different proportions, you might feel better in normal or mid-rise jeans, whereas if you have a longer torso, high-rise jeans look amazing on you because they elongate your silhouette. The key is finding what makes you feel comfortable and confident: if normal-rise jeans suit you and you like them, there's no reason to switch just because they're trendy right now.

High-waisted jeans work best if you have long legs or a slimmer silhouette, because otherwise they tend to visually shorten your figure. It really depends on how you're built: if you feel good in normal-waisted jeans, honestly there's no reason to switch just because they're trendy 😊

What nobody mentions is that high-waisted jeans only work if the length is right for you, otherwise you end up with that "diaper effect" which isn't exactly great. If you decide to try them, make sure the rise is proportioned to your body and they're not sitting too high on your waist - try different brands because the fit changes from one to another, don't just go by what you see on Instagram where basically everyone has legs that go on forever.

The real thing is that high-waisted jeans only work if you pick the right style for you: maybe not the most oversized cut, but something that actually follows your curves instead of flattening them. It's worth trying them, but don't force it if you're just not comfortable in them, because comfort matters more than whatever's trendy right now.

It's not that they look good on everyone, but it's also not true that you have to give them up if you don't have a "model" body. I for example have a pretty pronounced butt and full thighs, and I thought high-waisted jeans would flatten everything! But nope, I only figured that out by trying them on: the fabric matters more (if it's stretchy) and whether the waistband isn't too stiff. With the right jeans that follow your curves instead of fighting them, high-waisted actually gives me an insane comfort feeling and I feel more "contained" without them being tight. The truth is it's worth trying, but not just grabbing the first pair you find.
