Do physical folders with dividers still make sense for organizing notes?

SO Sol AR 🔍 Enthusiast 👁 60 ⚑ Report School

At my school most people already use everything digital, but my mom insists that I have actual folders with printed notes and dividers by subject. I have everything on my computer and phone, so I'm not sure if it's really worth keeping physical folders on top of the digital stuff. Do most students still do it or is it already a thing of the past?

If you already have everything organized on your computer and phone and it works for you, physical folders are pure redundancy. That said, there are still people who swear by handwriting and having printed notes to help them retain information better, so if your mom thinks it would do you good, it's not the end of the world to do some notes on paper without making it your main system. But no, most students don't do it anymore, and if you organize yourself well digitally you won't be missing anything.
