Definitely worth it. The graphics are the least of it, man. I replayed it like two years ago and the story is still brutal, the characters are well developed and the atmosphere is something that most new games don't even come close to. The gameplay is more linear than you remember, but that doesn't make it any less fun. Plus there's a ton of mods if you wanna update the graphics a bit, although honestly with the settings properly configured in 2026 it looks decent.

What surprised me was how well the art direction aged. The level design is smart, the difficulty progression is gradual and it never feels unfair. If you like sci-fi with an apocalyptic vibe, that game is gonna hook you again. Maybe some enemies or mechanics will seem a bit basic compared to what we're used to now, but the story is what's gonna keep you glued to the screen.

My advice is to start easy, without expecting last-gen graphics. It's more like watching a movie from the 2000s that you said you loved, you know? The dialogue, the plot, the story twists - that doesn't age. Plus, if you end up wanting to play something after, I'd recommend Episode Two to wrap things up nicely. Go for it.

The graphics are dated but the mechanics and story are still brutal, so if you enjoyed it before I'd recommend it without hesitation. Plus there are mods that improve things quite a bit if you want to give it a more modern spin.
