It's pretty suspicious that the warning light came on right after the oil change, that's too much of a coincidence. That guy at Norauto told you complete nonsense with his story about a sensor that was "acting up" - generally the check engine light doesn't come on for no reason just after an oil change. I'd suggest you go back to them to check that they properly reinstalled the oil filter or didn't forget to fill the tank to the right level, that's often the problem after a badly done oil change. A diagnostic won't cost you much and at least you'll know for sure, especially since if it's their fault they should do it for free.
