I've been looking for something to read over the next few months and I've seen a lot of people talking about this series. But people say the books are huge, like 1000+ pages each. Is it really worth investing that much time or is it just hype?
If you like detailed worldbuilding and characters that actually develop, it's totally worth dealing with the length. The books are seriously huge, but they're not dragging - you want to keep reading because the story grabs you hard. Most people who complain about the size end up admitting they didn't notice the time passing, so I think it's more about whether you're up for getting lost in a complex story for a few months. If you prefer quicker, lighter reads, then maybe you should look for something else.
