Is it worth starting the Project Hail Mary series now?

Don't wait for the series, Andy Weir's book is way better and you'll get through it fast. If you don't have the patience to read, then go ahead and try the series, but be prepared to be a few steps behind the original story.

If you're into sci-fi but can't be bothered to read, the series is actually pretty cool even though it's different from the book. My tip is to start with the series first so you don't get frustrated comparing everything to the original - then later you can read the book and appreciate all the details the production couldn't fit in. That way you won't be stuck with that feeling of "ugh, it was better in the book" the whole time.
