I'm in tenth grade and they're already asking us to think about what subjects to specialize in for eleventh grade. I'm doing pretty okay in everything but nothing really excites me. How am I supposed to choose?
Don't worry, it's totally normal to not have some crazy passion at your age, like most people are in the same boat.
What works really well is choosing based on what you're good at rather than hunting for some mysterious passion - if math comes easy to you and you don't hate torturing yourself, that's already a good reason to stick with a science specialization. You can also tell yourself it's not set in stone, like, a lot of people completely change direction after high school, so don't stress your brain out about it now, just pick whatever seems the least annoying and that's it.
It's not really a problem if nothing totally grabs you in year 10 - most people I know picked their specializations without being crazy about their subject, and it worked out after.
What matters more is thinking about what you like doing day-to-day (even if it's just "I like staying focused" or "I like working in groups"), and then looking at which specializations fit with that.
Like for me I didn't discover my passion for cycling until first year of uni when I started really analyzing how stuff worked, it can come later too. If you're comfortable everywhere, honestly you could just pick based on what bothers you least and whatever career paths vaguely interest you - it's not set in stone anyway.
People often forget that in first year you can still change your specialty if it's really not working out, so it's not a decision set in stone - so you should go with what you feel solid in and where you actually like the teachers, that matters way more than people think.
The best approach is to choose based on what you actually need to do day-to-day, not based on what sounds cool - you're gonna spend 8 hours a week on these subjects so you might as well pick something you can actually stand.
