How do I get started with digital painting on iPad?

Hey! I just bought a latest-generation iPad Air and wanted to try doing some digital painting. I've never drawn digitally before, only on paper. Which app would you recommend between Procreate and Clip Studio Paint? And do I need any other accessories besides the Apple Pencil?

Do you draw mainly as a hobby or are you thinking of doing something more serious?

Anyway, with the iPad Air and Apple Pencil you're already set, honestly you don't need much else. Between Procreate and Clip Studio Paint, Procreate is more intuitive if you're coming from paper and costs less (one-time purchase, around 12 euros), while Clip Studio is more complete if you're thinking of doing comics or professional illustrations but it has a subscription. Personally I'd go with Procreate to start, it has tons of tutorials and pretty much most of the tutorials you find online are on that app. If you then discover you actually like it, maybe you'll try Clip Studio in the future, but it's not necessary right away.
