How do I handle a period of unemployment on LinkedIn without it looking bad?

I was job hunting for 6 months after my last permanent position. So now I've got this real gap in my work history and I'm not sure how to present it without recruiters asking weird questions about it. Do I really have to put in all the details or can I just keep the period vague?
