How do I know if the vitamin C serum I bought is actually good

Vitamin C oxidizes quickly, so if the bottle is transparent or has been open for months, it probably doesn't work anymore. Make sure it says "ascorbic acid" or "L-ascorbic acid" in the first ingredients, that it comes in a dark bottle, and ideally that it has a decent price tag (good serums cost money).
