How do I remember where I left off in a series?

I often start a series, then after a couple of weeks I restart it because I can't remember what episode I was on. On Netflix it seems to continue where I left off, but on other platforms it doesn't always work that way. Is there a way to keep track of which series I'm watching or where I left off?

Most platforms like Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+ automatically save where you left off, but if you use several different services it's worth keeping a separate list - I use a simple Notes document on my phone where I write down the series and episode, or specialized apps like MyDramaList or Letterboxd that also track what you're watching. Alternatively, many platforms have a "Continue Watching" section that makes it easier, so always check there before starting from the beginning again.

The simplest solution is to use apps like Trakt or MyAnimeList (if you watch anime), which automatically sync what you're watching across all platforms and show you exactly where you left off. Alternatively, you can also keep a simple list on Notes or Google Keep where you jot down the series title and the last episode you watched, though it's less convenient than having an app do it automatically. Netflix actually keeps track better than other platforms because everything's integrated, but as soon as you switch to Prime Video, Disney+ or others it becomes a mess if you don't use an external tool.
