How do I submit assignments in PDF if my school uses different platforms?

At my school some teachers ask for assignments via WhatsApp, others through Classroom, and one more by email. I never know what format to send the work in and end up sending everything as PDF just in case, but sometimes they tell me it's wrong. Is there a way to know what the correct format is for each teacher?
