Three weeks is really too short, you need at least 8 to 12 weeks to notice real changes in the mirror - what changes first is strength, then comes the size. At this stage what matters most is consistency, proper nutrition (eating enough protein and calories) and progressing the weights, not necessarily training more days. Your trainer is right, but if you're eating well and training properly, you can definitely expect around 2 months to start seeing actual results.

The folks above are right that you need patience, but three weeks really is too early for you to think you're doing something wrong. That said, the most important thing right now is to check if you're eating enough - a lot of people start going to the gym with a caloric deficit thinking they're gonna get shredded, then they train and train and gain nothing. If you're eating well and keeping consistent, relax because between 6 to 8 weeks you'll start to notice that your clothes fit tighter or that you can do more reps. Strength goes up way faster than muscle size does, so it's normal to feel like "is this even happening?" in the first few months.

patricia2000 asker Thanks for the answer! I'm eating plenty as it is, so it's just a matter of staying consistent then.
