I started running a few years back and learned pretty quick that trying to do too much too soon just leaves you injured and frustrated. The key is the 10% rule - bump up your weekly distance by about 10% each week, and throw in a mix of easy runs, one longer run, and maybe a speed workout so your body adapts without getting hammered. How often are you currently running, and are you starting from scratch or coming back after a break? That'll help figure out what a realistic starting point looks like for you.

Starting from scratch, doing maybe 2-3 km a few times a week right now. No injuries yet, so I'm keen to build it up without messing that up.
