I want to quit my job and start something of my own online, but I'm not sure if it's viable with the current economic situation. Is anyone actually making real money doing this, or is it too risky in 2026?
I know several people who make it work, but the reality is most need a financial cushion before leaving their job 😅 Quitting everything overnight without savings is risky because the first few months almost never generate decent income, and there are unexpected expenses (taxes, platforms, marketing). What you see succeeding on social media is the 5% who actually made it; the rest are struggling quietly. My recommendation: start building your business on the side while you're still working, see if it actually works, and once you have consistent customers and money saved up, then go for it.
