I need a laptop that's not too expensive because I'm just starting to freelance from home. Basically I'll be in Excel all day, watching tutorials on YouTube and using Chrome with several tabs open. I'm not doing any video editing or heavy stuff. What would you recommend that won't cost me an arm and a leg?
You don't really need something "cheap" for that - with a mid-range budget you've got way more than enough. A laptop with a Ryzen 5 or latest-gen Intel i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and SSD storage will run Excel, YouTube, and Chrome like a dream with no issues. Look at brands like Lenovo, ASUS, or HP in the mid-to-low range - they offer a good balance between price and durability. The important thing is that it has an SSD (no mechanical hard drive) because that really does make a difference in day-to-day speed.
