I'm looking to upgrade my old 4K TV and saw some 8K models on sale at Best Buy. There's barely any 8K content out there though. Would I actually notice a difference, or am I just paying extra for something I won't use?
The content bottleneck is real - streaming services and broadcasters still aren't pushing 8K in any meaningful way, so you'd mostly be watching upscaled 4K content on an 8K screen, which doesn't justify the premium price. Unless you're specifically working with 8K video files or have money to burn, a high-end 4K TV is the smarter choice right now.
