My Hisense 55-inch keeps turning off on me for the past two weeks, even though it should still be on. I can't find any power-saving option in the menu that could be causing it. Is it a remote control issue or is the TV broken?
Don't write off the TV as broken or blame the remote without trying a few things first. The problem is often ridiculously simple and has nothing to do with hardware defects.
First: replace the remote batteries, even if they still seem to work - weak batteries can cause weird glitches. Then completely unplug the TV from power (don't just turn it off), wait at least 30 seconds, and plug it back in. That resets it. After that, check the settings for CEC functions (Anynet+ or something similar is what Hisense calls it) - if it's enabled, try disabling it. CEC can mess devices up when other devices are nearby (soundbar, receiver). Also: does it have a motion sensor or light sensor setting? Some TVs have that kind of thing and shut down when no activity is detected for a while. That could be stuck in power-saving mode, but it might be hidden in other menu options too.
If none of that works, try a Factory Reset option - you'll usually find it under Settings > System or Support. After that the TV's like new. If it still goes off randomly, it's probably the power supply or the electronics, and you'll need a repair. But try these things first - most shutdowns are software glitches, not hardware failures.
