I have an old stove here at home and honestly, as long as it works well I don't see why I'd replace it, and your 2008 Consul is far from being done! people exaggerate when they say gas is going out of style, what's changing is that the new models come with more technology (automatic ignition, more efficient burners) and some have an induction cooktop too, but that's a luxury honestly. if your stove cooks normally and you're not having issues with gas consumption or constant breakdowns, stick with it, only replace it when it actually breaks!
