To be honest, it's kind of a mixed thing - I'm more the analog hobbies type, like mushroom foraging, but my daughter got one of those gaming guitars for Rock Band a few years back and she had a blast with it. If you want to check whether it's worth it, I'd say: depends on whether you just want to play games or if you're actually interested in learning real guitar, because for the price you can get a decent real guitar these days. New games don't come out as often as they used to, so I'd say it's not really the hottest thing anymore for 2026.
I'd say that gaming guitars are pretty much niche devices these days 🎸 Most people nowadays just play with a controller or a regular guitar if they actually want to make music. But if you're a fan of classics like Guitar Hero and you happen to find one of those things, it can be fun - but I wouldn't buy one new anymore because replacement parts are often hard to come by.
